Our house... on the corner of our street...

So, jumping in a little - we're already 6 months into our first home! Why start writing about it now? Basically because I just started another blog (Adam's Allegory) that I still haven't found a direction for, when I realized I should start one about our house!

Around 6 months ago we bought a beautiful, 25 year-old, model home in one of the best neighborhoods in the area... We moved in in January and have been slowly but surely repairing and replacing as we go. As with every house however, there are always more projects than there is time or energy to complete! For now, here's a list of the major items we have to complete:

1. New Floors


2. New Windows


3. New AC unit(s)


4. New French Doors


5. Remove small deck (we have 2!)


6. Lay Patio


7. Grade & add drainage to backyard


8. Re-soil front yard


9. Add Garage Door Opener


10. Re-hang garage door


11. Re-arrange sand in crawl space


12. Re-lay plastic sheeting in crawl space


13. Re-arrange crawl-space AC vent pipes


14. Add second AC vent to TV room


15. Network-wire entire house


16. Replace shelving in pantry


17. Add light to pantry


18. Add control wire & switch to Master BR ceiling fan


19. Install bookcases in FROG


20. Paint (various rooms)


21. Remove border from make-up room


22. Build work bench in garage

That should do for now! I'll start including pictures to show my progress wherever possible... For instance, here are some before & after pictures of removing the decorative ceiling beams & popcorn ceiling from the music room:
